Dealing with Missing Issues of Serials
We keep "predictions" in the ILS of issues we expect to be receiving.
When issues we have "predicted" do not come on time (or are not checked in on time), we receive a report listing those items. The items on that report need to then be checked to make sure we actually did not receive them.
- If we actually did received them, they need to be "checked in" in the ILS immediately.
- If we have not received them, but they should not be out yet, the "prediction" for the issue will need to be changed in the ILS immediately.
- If we have not received them, and we should have by now, nothing needs to be done at this stage.

A second report will run a week later, taking the items we have not received that we purchase from the subscription service and email the service asking them to send us a copy of the missing issue.

Another report will run at the same time, for items that we have not received that we get directly from the publisher. For these, we need to contact the publisher for them to send us a replacement issue.
